The 2026 collection will be on - tbd -

The One Great Hour of Sharing offering began seventy-six years ago in response to the devastation of WW2. On Saturday evening, March 26, 1949, a national broadcast titled “One Great Hour” featured a remarkable assembly of national leaders and celebrities. The 33rd U.S. President, Harry S. Truman’s, radio address during the broadcast concluded by asking Americans to give generously the next morning in their churches. More than 75,000 churches responded.

Today, One Great Hour of Sharing serves people in over 80 countries around the world. Sponsored by five Christian U.S. denominations and Church World Service, One Great Hour of Sharing makes sure that we can respond to needs as soon as they happen and that tens of thousands of people receive support for ongoing relief, rehabilitation, and development.

Serving Those in Need

The Parish Cupboard

The Parish Cupboard helps individuals and families in need throughout West Springfield, Agawam, and Feeding Hills with our food pantry and lunch program. Our pantry is open to residents to receive groceries once a month. Pantry items include bread, produce, canned and boxed items, and personal care products. We also have books available in our lending library. The dining room is open to anyone in need of a nutritious meal, five days a week, at no charge.

Every year the Red Oak Church in West Springfield holds an Advent Food Drive with its parishioners and every year they pack over 35 boxes of food for the Parish Cupboard!
