STATEMENT OF BELIEF

• We believe in God, the creator of all things in heaven and on earth, who exists in the three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

• We believe strongly in the sovereignty of God in all things, meaning there is nothing beyond His control and reign.  

​

• We believe that the Son of God, the fullness of God’s self-expression, has always been with the Father as part of His eternal creative nature.  This Son has come to us in human form, as the person of Jesus Christ, to show us what it means to truly be children of God. 

​

• Jesus exists in the mystery of both fully human and fully divine.  As human, He pays the sacrifice for mankind’s sins through the atonement at the cross.  As divine, He alone has the power to save us through faith in Him.  

​

• The Holy Spirit renews us to new life in Jesus Christ, growing us in His likeness and image.  This work of the Spirit restores the image of God within us and shapes us as His children.  To be “in Christ” means that, through the Spirit of God, the likeness and essence of Christ is alive in us.  

​

• In this process, the Holy Spirit gifts us with certain abilities and empowerment to live as God’s children and demonstrate this new life to others.  The gifts of the Spirit are a demonstration of this good news, that accompanies our testimony.

• We believe that one day Jesus Christ will return in power, to fully restore the heavens and the earth in the Kingdom of God, and bring about the paradise that awaits all who are in Him through faith.

• The salvation of new life, as we experience it both now and more fully to come, is the work of salvation made possible through faith in Jesus Christ, and through the power of the Holy Spirit who draws us to Christ as an act of grace and love from our Heavenly Father.

• All of this (and so much more!) is found in the Bible, as holy scripture spoken from God to us, through the writings and testimonies of those inspired by the Spirit of God as they wrote.
